Cilla announced as new leader of the Women's Business Council

Cilla Snowball, Group Chairman and Group CEO, AMV BBDO has been announced as the new Chairman of the UK Women's Business Council.

The Women's Business Council was set up by government in 2012 as an independent, business- led group supported by government ,to advise on how women's contribution to economic growth should be optimised. The Council seeks to maximise opportunities for women from classroom to boardroom, providing valuable insight into how to tackle the barriers to women's progression and shining a light on the benefits to business and economic growth. The twenty strong, new look Women's Business Council has welcomed seven new members from a range of industries- from manufacturing to defence- across the UK. The new members also raise the male headcount in the group, encouraging other senior men to act as visible agents for change to help women build and sustain rewarding careers. Harnessing their shared expertise the Council will be working across more sectors than ever before, building partnerships with schools and colleges and developing industry solutions by business for business. Cilla Snowball also joins the Advisory Group of the Hampton- Alexander Review on women in the FTSE 350 and in senior leadership. Cilla Snowball said, ' I am delighted to be appointed Chairman of the Women's Business Council and I'm looking forward to joining forces with the Hampton-Alexander Review to increase the number of women leaders in business.
